About this market

What is ETH Up/Down 24h?

Daily ETH Up/Down is the market where ETH-specific news — upgrades, ETF headlines, treasury-company buying — has the most time to be priced in before settlement. The daily market is a single Up/Down binary per day: it opens around midday New York time and resolves 24 hours later on whether the price finished above where it started.

Ether usually moves with Bitcoin but with a larger amplitude, so the Up/Down outcome is a bet on beta as much as direction. Over a daily horizon, ETH also reacts to things BTC ignores: ETH/BTC rotations, staking and ETF-flow headlines, and DeFi liquidations that dump collateral into the market. When BTC is quiet, those ETH-specific catalysts are what flip an Up/Down window.

A daily market stays open long enough for the book to deepen and for informed traders to build positions across a whole session, so the data looks different from the short windows: wider quoted size, slower price changes, and clear reactions to overnight news. Be aware that there is only one market per day, so a year of history is roughly 365 samples.

What moves ETH 24h Up/Down

  • Staking and ETF-flow headlines that change how much supply is liquid
  • DeFi stress, because ETH collateral gets liquidated when lending markets de-risk
  • Window structure: news that lands overnight in Asia or ahead of the US session, which re-prices a market that has many hours left

FAQ

ETH Up/Down 24h: common questions

When does the daily ETH Up/Down market open and resolve?

Daily eth-updown-24h markets open around midday New York time and resolve 24 hours later. Check each market's rules text for the exact reference price and time before building a settlement model on top of it.

How much ETH 24h history is there?

One market per day since 2025-06-01 — roughly 512 markets. Because each stays open for a day, the order-book history per market is much larger than for the short windows.

What moves the ETH 24h Up/Down price most?

Two things dominate. First, staking and ETF-flow headlines that change how much supply is liquid. Second, DeFi stress, because ETH collateral gets liquidated when lending markets de-risk. On top of that sits the structural driver of every daily window: news that lands overnight in Asia or ahead of the US session, which re-prices a market that has many hours left. Liquidity here is second only to BTC, with spreads a tick or two wider and more variance in resting size.

How does ETH 24h Up/Down compare with the ETHUSDT order book on Binance?

Binance is where price discovery happens; Polymarket prices a probability on top of it. Joining eth-updown-24h with Binance ETHUSDT spot and perp ticks on timestamp lets you measure how many milliseconds the Up price lags a spot move. See the Binance ETH spot and perp pages for the matching feeds.

How big is the eth-updown-24h dataset?

About 6.19M events recorded since 2025-06-01, or roughly 12,088 events a day across about 512 windows. Every event carries both exchange and receive timestamps.
