Polymarket API vs AymarData
How the public Polymarket APIs differ from AymarData’s historical market-data API — complementary tools, not clones.
Who it's for
Builders integrating Polymarket who need to decide what to call live from Polymarket versus what to store and query historically via AymarData.
Overlap
- Access to Polymarket market metadata and trading-related data surfaces
- CLOB-oriented concepts: books, prices, outcomes
- Developer HTTP APIs
Differences
Primary job
Polymarket’s public APIs and CLOB interfaces serve trading apps, UIs, and live venue operations. AymarData is a market-data vendor: normalized historical books, trades, settlements, multi-source joins, bulk, and MCP.
History & reconstruction
AymarData is built for point-in-time at= queries and delta replay across retained history on paid plans. Venue APIs optimize for current state and trading; long historical L2 reconstruction is the data-vendor problem.
Multi-venue
AymarData adds Binance, Hyperliquid, Kalshi (per status) under one auth model. Polymarket APIs cover Polymarket.
When to use which
Other option: Call Polymarket directly for order entry, live UI quotes, and venue-authoritative balances — AymarData is not a trading gateway.
AymarData: Use AymarData for backtests, research lakes, agent tooling, and cross-venue features that need retained L2/trades/settlements.
The two are complementary. Many teams trade via Polymarket and research via AymarData. Always follow Polymarket’s terms for trading access.
